College's New Science Centre Is Now Nearly Complete
As we come to the end of the academic year we are also rapidly heading towards the completion of the College’s fabulous new Science Centre.
By the time pupils return to school in September, the building will be fully open and ready for lessons to commence.
Work continues apace inside and outside the building. In the ten new laboratories the finishing touches are being put in place. The final fixtures and fittings, handrails, balustrades and washrooms are all just about done. The loose furniture including racks of new pupil lockers are all about to go in. The commissioning of the mechanical and electrical systems has started, and the lift is in. Last week the Science department went for a tour and were utterly delighted with their fantastic new facilities.
Outside, the scaffolding is down, and landscaping continues. The site fencing has begun to be removed, allowing us all to see the new building clearly. The new courts are now all stoned up and tarmacking will start next week. External landscaping will continue until well into August.
Plans are also underway for the official opening of the new building to celebrate its addition to the College's superb facilities. It is all very exciting for us here at Princethorpe.
