Generous Pupils Support Parish Teams4U Shoebox Appeal
Princethorpe’s pupils have generously supported the St Anne's, Wappenbury, Parish Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, filling boxes full of gifts for children overseas.
A grand total of 81 boxes have been collected and assembled. All packed full of little gifts and educational and hygiene essentials such as toothbrushes, hairbrushes, paper and pens. Every day, ordinary items to us but of great value to those who would not otherwise receive a Christmas gift.
The boxes will be distributed by Teams4U in Romania and will be given to a vulnerable child, or family, through schools, nurseries, hospitals and orphanages. Teams4U share the shoe boxes in the local communities they work in as part of an ongoing programme of support.
Thanks to all the pupils and parents who supported the initiative with donations but especially to Year 8 pupils, Daisy Burke, Jemima Teeton and Isaac Kirby who have worked tirelessly in lunchtimes sorting and packing all the boxes. Also to Mary Benham, Chaplaincy Co-Ordinator, and Parish member Loretta Curtis for their support with the project.
