Medals Galore At The ISA National Swimming Championships

Princethorpe College celebrated after pupils had a super successful outing at the Independent School Association’s National Swimming Championships. Together, the Princethorpe team brought home two Gold, five Silver and four Bronze medals, a fantastic haul.
A team of seven pupils swam for the Midlands team on Friday 28 November at the London Aquatics Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Year 9, Issey, was on fine form, winning Gold in the 100m Breaststroke in 1:16.79 and also in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay in a team time of 1:55.49, then she took Silver in the 200m Individual Medley in 2:29.34 and in the Medley Relay in a team time of 2:11.81.
Year 11, Tara, also claimed Silver in the 100m Breaststroke in 1:24.92 as did Year 9, Bebe, in the 4x50m Medley Relay in a team time of 2:11.81, Bebe just missed a second medal after finishing fourth in the 50m Butterfly.
Year 11, Ewan, won Silver in the 100m Freestyle in 59.83 and Bronze in the 4x50m Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay, in team times of 2:02.02 and 1:49.21 respectively.
While, Year 7s, Zac and Woody, both won Bronze medals in the 4x50m Medley Relay, in a team time of 2:34.74.
Together, Princethorpe’s swimmers helped the Midlands team finish in second place overall at the national event.
Foundation Director of Sport, Lee Cassell, was delighted and said, "Our swimmers have traditionally done well in the ISA Swimming Championships, and they have had another really successful outing this year. Well done to everyone who competed in both the National Championships and in the regional qualifying competitions."
