Princethorpe College is delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘Independent School of the Year for Student Careers’ category in the 2025 Independent Schools of the Year Awards.
The Awards Scheme celebrates the independent education sector, showcasing excellence in student experience and recognising the varied and imaginative way in which independent schools prepare young people for their future lives. Now in its eighth year, the College is pleased to have been selected ahead of a record number of entries from independent schools across the UK.
Grove du Toit, Headmaster, comments, “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award. It is a really wonderful accolade and is testament to the incredible work our Careers team and College staff do here at Princethorpe and to our Curriculum for Life which fosters personal development alongside academic excellence.”
The award recognises the College’s forward-looking Careers Programme that starts from Year 7 and concentrates on identifying aptitudes, developing competencies, delivering experiences and providing tailored guidance and support to pupils as they move through school and out into the world. The programme includes our biennial flagship Career Insights event, that this year welcomed nearly sixty speakers, the majority Old Princethorpians, to present on a wide variety of careers and professions. It provided a host of advice to listen to, lessons to be learnt, questions to be asked and connections to be made and a truly inspirational keynote speech from guest speaker and Old Princethorpian, Tunde Olanrewaju, Senior Partner with global management consultancy, McKinsey & Co.
The award finalists are due to be announced in September with the winners revealed in October.
