A-Level Science Trips Provide Valuable Subject Enrichment

24 Nov

Our Lower Sixth scientists have enjoyed subject enrichment sessions at A-level Science Live events at the University of Birmingham and the Emmanuel Centre in London.

They heard from inspirational scientists working at the cutting edge of their specialisms on a variety of topics that were engaging and inspiring and that showcased the opportunities available in science.

Our physicists explored the concept of time, first light, powering space exploration, sound and particle physics. While our chemists enjoyed lectures on subjects including atmospheric chemistry, chiral materials and nanostructures and particularly enjoyed the session on synthetic soil and how that supports sustainability.

Both days also included useful sessions from A-level examiners, with tips and guidance on how to improve examination performance.

These events provide such valuable subject extension for our Sixth Form students.
