26 Mar

Princethorpe College’s Winter Sports Awards were presented during the last week of the Lent Term.

It was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the College’s young sportsmen and sportswomen at all levels and across all sports.

They included the Junior (Years 7 and 8), Intermediate (Years 9 and 10) and Senior (Year 11, Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth) Sports Girl and Sports Boy Awards as well as the Boys’ and Girls’ Teams of the Season. This year, there was also a new award, recognising outstanding achievement in sport outside school.

Foundation Director of Sport, Lee Cassell, Head of Girls' Games, Carly Walton, and Head of Boys’ Games, Joe Jackson, shared shortlists for each award.

Recognising their success across the year, the Girls Sports' Team Of The Season was awarded to the U13 Girls’ Football Team while the Boys Sports' Team Of The Season went to the U15 Boys Rugby Team.

The individual awards were presented to:

Junior Sports Girl - Jessica Parker

Mr Cassell commented, “Congratulations to all the award winners, it has been another very successful winter season for the College with plenty to celebrate across the school.
