Huge congratulations to the U13 Girls Football team who are through to the national finals of the Independent Schools Football Association’s U13 Cup.
After seeing off Brentwood School 3-1 in the quarter-finals back in January, the girls faced The Grammar School at Leeds in the semis at home last Friday 6 March. The team delivered an outstanding performance, showing incredible character throughout. In a high-quality and closely fought match, the girls represented the school with tremendous spirit, determination and composure. Two goals from Jessica Parker helped Princethorpe complete a really well-earned and fully deserved 2-1 victory.
Team Manager, Dan White, was delighted and said, “The U13 Girls Football team are a superb squad who have regularly demonstrated excellent team spirit and togetherness. The group include girls from both Year 8 and Year 7. They work hard for each other and have played some outstanding football this year. I am really proud of this group, they are a joy to coach. Reaching the finals of a national schools’ competition is a remarkable achievement and places our girls among the strongest independent school teams in the country this season.”
A truly fantastic effort from the girls, who have had an exceptional season and are still in two cup competitions: the ISFA Cup and the Sisters n Sport Cup. A huge well done to them all!
They now face Surbiton High School, a school with a strong record of success, on Friday 1 May.
