U13 Girls Through To ISFA Cup Quarter Finals

Many congratulations to the Girls U13 Football team who are through to the Quarter Finals in the Independent Schools Football Association’s U13 Cup.
Having overcome Stephen Perse Cambridge & Dame Bradbury's confidently 11-2 in the first round in October, the girls then saw off Berkhamsted School 5-1 in November. That put them up against a talented LVS Ascot side in Round 3. In a nail-biting contest, between two very good sides, last Thursday 11 December, LVS Ascot took a 1-0 lead into half-time. Princethorpe’s girls showed incredible resilience, equalising early in the second half after a stunning long range shot by Jessica Blythe. That strengthened the team’s belief and they redoubled their efforts, searching for the winning goal, which was then skilfully delivered by Roisin Capper. Defensively, the team remained determined throughout, particularly in the later stages when they were vigilant in protecting their lead. The match finished 2-1 to Princethorpe, a really well-earned and deserved victory. The U13 Girls are now through to the last eight and will face Brentwood School in January.
Team Manager, Dan White, was delighted and said, “The U13 Girls Football team are a superb squad who have regularly demonstrated excellent team spirit and togetherness. The group include girls from both Year 8 and Year 7. They work hard for each other and have played some outstanding football this year. I am really proud of this group, they are a joy to coach, and we are all looking forward to further matches in the new year.”
A fantastic effort from the girls, who have had an exceptional season and are still in three cup competitions: the Quarter Finals of the ISFA Cup, Round 5 of the ESFA Cup, Round 2 of the Sisters n Sport Cup. A huge well done to them all!
