New Vehicles Support Foundation's Sustainability Targets

13 Aug

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, the Princethorpe Foundation Facilities team have replaced their old diesel vans with a new fully electric van.

In addition, all Foundation vehicles, including the ride-on mowers, have now made the switch to biofuel helping to reduce emissions and lower the Foundation’s carbon footprint.

This summer, the Foundation has also added a new Euro 6 Minibus to its minibus fleet to support with co-curricular provision across the Foundation. With its larger capacity, the minibus will also support the College’s daily bus service and, with their distinctive Foundation For Life livery, parents and the wider community will find it easy to spot both new vehicles as they go about their work.

In addition, all diesel/petrol hand-held equipment across the Foundation, including mowers, blowers and strimmers etc have now been replaced with electric versions. Not only are these emission free, they are also quieter reducing noise pollution.

Foundation Director of Facilities, Rob Heath, comments, “I am delighted with the progress we continue to make against our sustainability and efficiency targets. Reducing our reliance on fossil fuels comes with a range of benefits and will remain a key focus for us as we enter the new academic year.”
