Newsies Jr Was Enjoyed By All

16 Jun

Our College’s Lower School Musical Theatre Group production of Newsies Jr  was just superb. The Clarkson Theatre was filled full of rousing songs as audiences enjoyed a sensational show.

Over three nights, from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 June, the cast of 40 talented pupils from Years 7 to 9, told the story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of young newsies in New York, who rallies young workers from across the city to strike against unfair conditions and fight for what's right.

It was a brilliant first musical for our lower school pupils to perform, full of vibrant energy, passion and enthusiasm and we are all still humming along to the songs.

Congratulations to everyone involved, on stage and behind the scenes and especially to the Directors, Mr Cowlishaw and Ms Newborough.
