12 Medals For Princethorpe At The ISA National Athletics Championships

After success at the ISA Midlands Athletics, on Monday 16 June, Princethorpe took a team of 15 athletes to ISA National Track and Field Athletics Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. The College was delighted that together pupils brought home an incredible 12 medals.
It was an excellent opportunity for pupils to compete against high calibre opposition at a pre-eminent event. Princethorpe’s medal haul included five Gold medals, four Silvers and three Bronze medals, another fantastic set of results.
Congratulations to national champions Dani and Zarah who both took Gold in the High Jump, to Marisa who claimed Gold in both the Discus and Shot and to Maxwell who achieved Gold in the 400m. Well done also to Stephen who earned himself a Silver in the Long Jump and Triple Jump and Dax, who went one better with Silver in the 100m and the High Jump and then a Bronze in the Relay. Then a shout-out for Bert who took a Bronze in the Hurdles and George who took Bronze in the Relay. A number of pupils only just missed a medal after finishing fourth.
Foundation Director of Sport, Lee Cassell, was delighted, commenting, “A huge well done to all of our athletes for an excellent performance. They responded so well to the top-class competition they faced. Their tenacity, determination, good humour and camaraderie made for a fantastic experience for the whole team. We are proud of them all.”
