Three Peaks No Challenge For Princethorpe's Team

01 Nov

A huge well done to Princethorpe's triumphant team of Rod Isaacs, Ben Collie, Cyp Vella, Will Bower and DofE instructor Paul Coombes, who completed the 25 mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in a mere 8 hours 20 minutes over half term.

The team took on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and 5,200ft of ascent, on a gloriously clear but cold day, running a lot of the way. The Challenge has to be completed in under 12 hours! They had the invaluable support of the one and only Will Uglow (former Princethorpe staff member) who made the whole experience so much easier by replenishing their supplies and water along the way.

The group were raising funds for a Classrooms for Malawi building and refurbishment project at Lauderdale school, which will take place in July 2020 when a group from Princethorpe will venture to Malawi for our first expedition to the country.

Completing the challenge has given a great start to the project's fundraising but there is still a long way to go before they reach their £15,000 total.  If you would like to support the Classrooms for Malawi project please visit their fundraising page where you canfind out more and donate, three pounds for three peaks sounds pretty reasonable to us!!
