Step 7 - Induction Programme
Summer 2011
Pupils joining us in September have the opportunity at the end of the Trinity Term and during the Summer Holidays to revisit the school. New pupils and their parents are also welcomed at the Annual Summer Fete and Motoring Festival on the afternoon of Sunday 26 June.
Induction Day – Wednesday 29 June
This is an opportunity for all pupils due to enter the school in September and their parents to meet fellow families and familiarise themselves with the school and staff.
The day consists of two separate events.
The new students should arrive at school no earlier than 8.45am and can be dropped off at the Sports Hall where they will be met and taken along to the Sixth Form Lecture Theatre. The students will be introduced to their form tutors and form groups and then spend the day together in lessons, having lunch and later participating in team building activities.
Parents should return to the Sports Hall for 3.30pm for their own Information Fair.
After a brief introductory address parents will have the opportunity to visit the Information Fair. The Fair comprises the following ‘stalls’;
Bus services Music lessons Medical matters Chartwell Catering - please bring along cash or a cheque book as you will have the opportunity to pay for a lunch card ready for September Parents’ Association Games Department Uniform - book your appointment for the shop Activity Sessions for Year 7 Fiery Feet – Dance Club

We expect the afternoon’s programme to finish at around 4.45pm.
Pupils entering Years 8, 9 and 10 will also follow a school day, taking part in lessons and meeting fellow pupils, their form tutor and other key staff.
Year 7 Activity Session - August 2011
