Crackley Hall School organised a mini-marathon experience for all of its pupils in support of two mums who took part in the London Marathon last Sunday and will be running the Edinburgh marathon in May. Pupils were invited to customise their PE kits using a Scottish or London based theme and run as many laps of the school track as they could manage in an allotted time. Prizes were awarded to those athletes who ran the furthest distance and wore the most exciting fancy dress. Pupils brought in contributions to support the charity Hope for Children. So far a total in excess of £700 has been raised.
Veteran marathon runners Catherine Warne and Emma Litterick completed the London marathon together in a time of 3hours 50 minutes and wore full Princethorpe College uniform.
“The children did so well with their running,” commented Emma Litterick, “Crackley is a school that prides itself on its community spirit and this event reflected everything that is so special about their ethos.”
