General Introduction

Crackley Hall occupies a beautiful former country house at St Joseph’s Park, on the outskirts of Kenilworth, which has been extensively modernised in recent years, to include comprehensive ICT facilities and a Science Laboratory; extensive sports fields are just a stone’s throw away.

With one form for each year group and small class sizes, staff get to know the children very well and can adapt teaching methods to ensure they are challenging but supportive and suit each individual.  Hard work, fun, fairness, tolerance and independent thinking are encouraged.  Pupils become astute in the understanding of themselves and each other, and good manners are insisted upon.

The school day is divided into five teaching periods, beginning at 8.50am and ending at 3.45pm, but to help busy mums and dads we are open from 8.00am until 6.00pm.  Many children stay on after school for homework, clubs or sporting activities.

Most pupils enter at Reception, with many joining from our nursery, Little Crackers, and also at age seven, though pupils are welcome at any age dependent on a place being available.

At Crackley Hall, the school motto Collaboremus – working together – is lived out each day and there is a particularly strong partnership between the school and parents, working together for the good of the children.

Communication is frequent and informal, with the school operating an open door policy so parents can visit whenever there is a need. Full reports are issued at the end of the Summer Term and parents’ evenings, which give the opportunity to discuss progress and individual targets, are held twice each year.

Close ties are also maintained with the Foundation’s senior school, in the form of regular visits to music and drama performances, shared school events and a structured induction programme for the many pupils who move on to Princethorpe when they are 11.
