Pupils at Crackley Hall School welcomed former paralympic gold medalist Melanie Easter who came to talk to them about her remarkable sporting achievements. The Kenilworth based star was keen to answer questions from pupils about her training and plans for the future. Ms Easter who took Gold, Silver and Bronze at the Sydney Paralympics in the 400m, 100m and 200m Individual Medley swimming events has now switched from her beloved pool and is focusing on the triathlon. In 2008 she was voted Disabled Female Athlete of the Year and has been invited by Crackley Hall to be their Guest Speaker at the school’s annual prize giving ceremony to be held in June at Leamington’s Spa Centre.

Head teacher Mr Paul Ryan commented,

‘It was wonderful that Melanie could come and meet the children before our prize giving event. We have a number of very keen athletes at Crackley Hall who were all interested to find out what goes on at World Class level.’
