Princethorpe College pupils were treated to a lunchtime street dance workshop in recognition of funds being raised for the British charity Lepra. Award winning dancer Milly Slater engaged over 200 Year 7 and 8 pupils teaching them basic street dance moves and culminating in a dance display which fired their imaginations!
Lepra representatives visited Princethorpe earlier in February to inform students through assemblies about their valuable work. The British based organisation uses the slogan Health into Action to summarise their work in poverty stricken countries as far a field as Nepal, Mozambique and Columbia.
Year 7 and 8 students are eagerly raising money to support Lepra whose valuable work abroad helps to deliver health care to those who lives have been marginalised by poverty.
The atmosphere in the sports hall was exciting and energetic with staff and pupils grooving for a great cause!
Last Year Princethorpe students managed to raise in excess of £1700 for Lepra. This year they are hoping to match this amount.
