


Step 4 - Entrance Exams
Entrance Examinations for September 2012 entry for all age groups (except Sixth Form) will take place on Saturday 21 January 2012 from 9.00am to 3.00pm. All candidates must be registered at least a week before sitting the Entrance Examination.
For entrance exams, candidates should wear their current school uniform and should bring a pen, two pencils, eraser and ruler. Candidates for Years 9, 10 and 11 (13+ , 14+ and 15+) should bring an appropriate language dictionary, a calculator and protractor.
The papers vary in length from 45 minutes to 1 hour. A copy of a past English paper is included in the prospectus pack. Details of relevant practice papers for Maths and Verbal Reasoning for those candidates entering Years 7 and 8 re listed in the relevant section below.

Art Scholarship Examinations for entry in September 2012 will take place on TBC from 9.30am to 3.00pm. Music Scholarship Auditions will take place week commencing Monday 16 January 2012. Contact the Registrar for more details.

- Informal English paper – free writing, no preparation required
- Verbal Reasoning paper
- Mathematics paper

Bond Assessment Papers, Fourth Paper in Maths, published by Nelson Thornes (ISBN 978-0-7487-8117-1). How to do 11+ Verbal Reasoning by Bond published by Nelson Thornes (ISBN 978-0-7487-8496-7). A copy of a past English paper is included in the prospectus pack.

Personal Interviews
For those entering Years 9, 10 and 11 personal interviews will take place wc Monday 16 January 2012. This is an informal 15 minute interview with a senior member of staff, covering the candidate’s interests, achievements, aspirations and communication skills.
